Painting: Coração de Macau, by our Co-owner - Hoeyyn
Nestled in the heart of Edinburgh, Macau Kitchen offers a unique culinary experience that has been described as "a thrilling, joyous and — yes — progressive restaurant, world-embracing yet singular, unlike anywhere else" by The Times.
Led by our Eurasian Chef-Patron Kei — “The Spice Trade Narrator” — we celebrate the rich heritage of Macanese cuisine, one of the distinguished Luso-Asian cuisines born from the historic Portuguese spice routes across Asia. Our restaurant showcases a vibrant fusion of flavors that delight both the palate and spirit.
Guests can enjoy our core menu, which features beloved Macanese classics alongside Progressive Macanese dishes crafted by Chef Kei. For those seeking something new, our daily-changing menu offers inventive creations made from seasonal ingredients, reflecting the chef's creativity each day.
For an intimate experience, the Chef’s Table & Chef’s Choice present a bespoke multi-course journey tailored to adventurous diners.
For an extra layer of culinary excitement, we occasionally host ticketed Secret Menu dinners. These themed, single-seating events pair mystery dishes with the chef’s storytelling, guiding our guests through different culinary journeys. Highlights include family recipes and premium ingredients, such as limited edition organic Goan coconut toddy sourced directly from Goa and organic Gula Melaka from a family in Malacca, often featuring collaborations with guest chefs.
We can’t wait to share our passion for food with you!
